The Trade-Mart Dundee Stars will open the 2022-2023 Premier Sports Elite League season with a trip to Kirkcaldy for a Challenge Cup contest against our biggest rivals, Fife Flyers on Saturday, September 10.

The season opener in Fife will be followed by the first home game, 24 hours later as the Stars host Glasgow Clan in the Challenge Cup (face-off 5pm).

Prior to the opening weekend, there will also be preseason friendlies held in the two weeks before the first puck drop of the new campaign.

First up is a double header against Stars GM and Head Coach, Jeff Mason’s previous club Belfast Giants, with the first game held at the SSE Arena on Saturday, August 27th and the second at the DIA on Sunday, August 28th.

The following weekend fixtures will be announced in the coming weeks, keep your eyes on our socials.

Just five days into the new season will also see the Stars hit the big screen as Premier Sports come to the City of Discovery on Thursday, September 15 to broadcast the Tayside Derby across the UK, when the Flyers make their first visit to the DIA.

Then, the first regular season fixture will be played on Sunday, September 18, when Sheffield Steelers are the visitors in Dundee and league play then resumes on Friday, September 30th after the completion of the Challenge Cup Group Stage, with a trip south to play Omar Pacha’s Nottingham Panthers.

The first run of away fixtures will be in October, when a Wednesday night trip to Sheffield (October, 19) comes before road games against Manchester Storm (October, 22) and Guildford Flames (October, 23) that weekend.

A Wednesday night in Belfast (October, 26), completes the seven-day stint on the road and the Stars then head home to battle with the Flames, two days later.

The next instalment of the Tayside Derby at the DIA will be on Saturday, November 11, with a week off in-between before Dundee face back-to-back clashes with the Clan, home and away.

Then the next set of key dates come during the festive period as Dundee host Fife for the annual Boxing Day Battle between the two old foes and the two teams meet again across the River Tay, 24 hours later.

A Hogmanay run-in at Braehead Arena follows as the Stars face the Clan for the final action of 2022 and two days later, they begin 2023 by hosting Malcom Cameron’s men.

A double header with Belfast on January 6 and 7 gets the regular rhythm going again before the next home Debry match against Fife on Saturday, February 11.

The final weekend of the regular season then falls on Saturday, April 1 and Sunday, April 2, as Dundee visit the Flyers before hosting the current league champions, Belfast.

One week later (April 8 and 9) will be the Playoff Quarter-Finals and the Premier Sports Elite League Playoff Finals Weekend will take place on the weekend of April 15 and 16.

Also, the Challenge Cup Final will take place on Wednesday, March, 1.
