NOTTINGHAM PANTHERS 4 TRADE-MART DUNDEE STARS 0

By Kris Smith

The Stars were missing seven players from their line-up as they headed south to face Nottingham Panthers on Saturday night, before welcoming Sheffield Steelers to Tayside yesterday.

Down in Nottingham, Dundee would be beaten 4-0 by the Panthers, as Quinn Wichers had the hosts 1-0 in front after the first period, when he lifted home a loose puck on 9 minutes but the second period then saw Danny Stewart’s side explode offensively as they moved into a 4-0 lead.

Three goals in seven minutes, quickly put the game beyond Dundee as Tim Doherty was next to fire past Jarrett Fiske inside 26 minutes, before Matt Alfaro added the third with a close-range finish in the 29th minute.

Didrik Henbrant would then round off the scoring for the evening with Nottingham’s fourth goal in 33 minutes, as Jason Grande denied all 27 shots from the Stars at the other end and they failed to capitalise on three powerplay chances throughout the match.
