Belfast controlled much of the first period and outshot Dundee 15-9, but were met by strong defensive play from the Stars and an excellent performance from Jarrett Fiske in net.
Scott Conway opened the scoring for the Giants at 09:44, firing a one-timer from the slot past Fiske on the powerplay.
Just as it looked like the score would remain 1-0 heading into the first intermission, Nicolas Guay carried the puck into the Stars’ zone and sent a shot under the pads of Fiske to make it 2-0 at 19:07.

Ryan Smith extended the Giants’ lead at 23:15, collecting the puck off a faceoff win in the Stars’ zone and snapping a shot from the right circle into the net.
Scott Conway got his second of the night at 24:40, poking home a loose puck after a scramble in the Stars’ crease.
Despite an initial save from Fiske on a shot by J.J. Piccinich, Conway was first to the rebound, completing his hat trick at 29:26.
Nicolas Guay netted his second of the night at 34:52, firing a shot from the left circle past Fiske to make it 6-0.
The Stars got on the board late through Keanu Yamamoto, who capitalised on sustained pressure in the Giants’ zone and beat Jackson Whistle with a shot from the right circle at 38:59.

Scott Conway scored the lone goal of the third period — his fourth of the game — with a slapshot from the high slot at 50:21.
