The MKM Dundee Stars secured a crucial point in Manchester, narrowly falling in a shootout against the Storm.

Drydn Dow opened the scoring in Manchester after a strong start by the Stars, firing a shot from the point past Drew DeRidder at 06:46 on the powerplay.

The Storm responded through Joseph Nardi, who scored a powerplay goal of his own at 18:43 with a shot that beat Jarrett Fiske.

 

 

 

J.D. Dudek gave the Storm their first lead of the night at 32:50, taking a pass from Harrison Caines in close and putting the puck past Fiske.

Otto Nieminen levelled the score at 48:51, capitalising on a Manchester error before poking the puck past the pads of Drew DeRidder.

 

 

 

 

Neither side could find a winner in the closing stages of regulation, sending the game to overtime.

Despite a thrilling extra frame, which saw both teams strike the post on multiple occasions, the deadlock remained, and the contest was sent to a shootout.

Dante Hannoun and J.D. Dudek converted in the shootout for Manchester, while Drew DeRidder turned aside all Stars attempts to secure the extra point for the Storm.
