The MKM Dundee Stars couldn’t complete a late comeback against the Belfast Giants, falling 7-4 to the Northern Irish side.

Belfast opened the scoring through Carter Hamill, who found space in the high slot to fire a quick wrist shot past Emil Kruse at 06:39.

 

 

Bo Hanson doubled the Giants’ lead at 20:35, firing a shot from the right circle after a scramble in front of the Stars’ net.

Gabe Bast made it 3-0 at 29:33, sending a wrist shot past Kruse after a defensive breakdown in the Stars’ zone.

The Stars responded just ten seconds later at 29:43 through captain Drydn Dow, who beat Alexis Gravel with a backhand in close to make it 3-1.

Bo Hanson scored his second of the night at 33:23 with a one-timer past Kruse.

Ben Lake made it 5-1 thirty four seconds later, firing a wrist shot from the left circle that beat the Stars’ netminder.

A slashing call against Carter Hamill proved costly for the visitors, as Drydn Dow scored his second of the night at 38:51 on the ensuing powerplay to make it 5-2 heading into the third period.

 

 

Morten Jürgens made it 5-3 early in the third period, redirecting a slap shot from Justin Bean past Gravel at 43:52.

Drydn Dow completed his hat trick and made it a one-goal game at 50:28, picking up a pass from Morten Jürgens and backhanding it past Gravel.

Jordan Kawaguchi found himself alone in the high slot at 55:17, beating Kruse with a quick wrist shot to make it 6-4.

David Goodwin sealed the win for the Giants, picking up a behind the net pass from JJ Piccinich and tapping the puck into a wide open net at 56:44.
