The MKM Dundee Stars secured a massive shootout victory over the Manchester Storm, avenging their loss in Altrincham 24 hours prior.

Dundee began the opening period strong, putting Evan Weninger to the test early with a number of high-quality scoring chances.

Despite this, it was the Storm who got on the board first through J.D. Dudek at 07:46, as he fired a shot from the left circle over the glove of Emil Kruse.

Spencer Naas responded with his team-leading 16th goal to level the score at 1-1. Kameron Kielly fed Naas, who broke into the Storm zone with speed and beat Weninger with a quick wrist shot at 10:45.

Brady Gilmour restored the visitors’ lead at 15:33, picking up a cross-ice pass from Brandon Cutler and firing a one-timer into the Stars’ net.

A Storm faceoff win in the Stars’ zone set up Dudek, who wasted no time firing a shot through traffic and past Kruse for his second of the night at 27:12.

Otto Nieminen made it a one-goal game at 31:58, sending a shot from the blue line through traffic that found its way past Weninger.

A late high-sticking penalty on Bradley Schoonbaert proved costly for the Stars, with Harrison Caines converting on the resulting powerplay at 56:16.

Justin Bean equalised late, firing a shot from the point through traffic past Weninger at 59:05.

Neither team could find the back of the net in overtime, sending the game into a shootout. Drydn Dow, Otto Nieminen and Kameron Kielly all scored for the Stars, while Kruse stopped all three Manchester shooters to secure a massive two points.
