Kristoff Kontos got Cardiff on the board less than two minutes into the first period at 01:17, backhanding a rebound above Jarrett Fiske after the Stars’ netminder had made a save through traffic on a shot from the point by Evan Mosey.
Brett Perlini scored his second of the weekend at 08:30, making it 2-0 with a tight-angle shot into the top corner of the Stars’ net.
Dundee were awarded a 5-on-3 powerplay late in the first period, with Tyson Helgesen and Kohen Olischefski both called for cross-checking. However, the Stars couldn’t convert despite several chances, and the score remained unchanged heading into the second period.

Brandon Estes added a third at 28:20, snapping a wrist shot from the right circle through traffic past Fiske.
Kontos scored his second of the night at 37:27, firing a shot high above Fiske to make it 4-0.

Justin Bean got the Stars on the board just after the midway point of the third period, sending a strong shot from the point past Christian Stoever at 51:47.
The Devils responded shortly after through Cedric Lacroix, who fired home a rebound at 52:32 to make it 5-1.
Josh MacDonald made it 6-1 at 53:30 on the powerplay after Keanu Yamamoto was assessed a minor for high-sticking.
Kontos completed his hat-trick at 56:33, beating Fiske with a quick shot to make it 7-1.
Brett Ferguson added an eighth on a late powerplay opportunity, firing from the high slot into the Stars’ net at 59:09 to complete the scoring.
