Baxter, 18, joined the Stars last season on a two-way contract with the Lynx and went on to appear in 10 Elite League games alongside two Challenge Cup contests.
A product of the Dundee Stars junior system, Baxter has appeared at the U16 and U19 level, and made his senior debut with the Dundee Comets during the 2023/24 season at just 15 years old.
Across four SNL seasons, Baxter has appeared in 53 regular-season contests, recording 42 points.
He has also appeared in seven playoff games and helped the Aberdeen Lynx secure the SNL title during the 2024/25 season.
Reflecting on his first season with the Stars, Baxter said:
“I feel like I came on a lot last season, training and playing with the Stars. The intensity compared to the SNL is a lot different. I started slow at the start of the season, but getting to train with the Stars every day helped quite a lot. Obviously, the Stars’ season didn’t go as planned, but personally it was a good one for me.”
On returning to both Dundee and Aberdeen, he added:
“I was always hoping to stay with both Aberdeen and Dundee; it was just whether Scott was happy to keep the two-way going. I had a talk with him and, after he spoke to John Colley at Aberdeen, he was happy to keep it going, so I’m glad it’s happening.”
Looking ahead to the 2026/27 season, Baxter concluded:
“Obviously, with the Stars, I’m hoping to play as much as I can and do what I can to earn my spot further up on the team. With Aberdeen, I’m hoping for a better year than last year, trying to get some silverware, and do what I can as well.”
Head Coach Scott Dutertre commented on his early impression of Baxter during training camp:
“The last couple of days in practice, Jaydn has been terrific. He battles hard for a guy his size, his effort and compete have been really good, and I’m excited to see him when he gets in the lineup.”
