Welcome to this week’s instalment of the Dundee Stars A-Z series. Today, we bring you the brief list of the players in Stars history, whose names begin with the letter ‘I’.

PLAYERS

Inglis, Kris – Made his debut for his hometown team in 2016 and has since gone on to make 187 appearances for the club, scoring 15 points across four seasons. Despite only being 22-years-old, the defenseman has already cemented his place as an icon in the club’s history. Inglis is well known for his hard-working and dedicated attitude both on and off the ice.

Inkinen, Mikko – Joined the Stars towards the end of his career but the Finnish forward played a huge role in the team’s first ever season that saw them win both the British National League and the playoffs. The right winger had spent all of his career in his homeland before joining Dundee in 2001 and he would feature in 52 matches, scoring 28 goals and assisting on 44 more. Mikko played one more season after leaving the Stars, which he split between Besancon in France and IK Pantern in Sweden, before retiring from professional hockey.

Isaacs, James – Was a key but late arrival to the Stars 2013-2014 Gardiner Conference winning team and the Canadian blueliner helped to push Dundee over the line as they clinched their first ever trophy in the club’s EIHL tenure. James made 17 appearances that season and after signing an extension for the following year, he added another 41 games and totalled 18 points across his two years in Tayside. However, after a half-season in Coventry with the Blaze, in 2016 he joined the Stars biggest rivals Fife Flyers and has been icing with the Kirkcaldy club ever since.
