The Trade-Mart Dundee Stars made it a four-point weekend as they scored big against their Scottish rivals, Glasgow Clan in a 7-3 win at the Dundee Ice Arena, on Sunday evening.

The Stars were still without forward, Brent Beaudoin as he missed out through injury but they had forward, Brendan Harms back in the line-up after his one-game suspension was up.

Dundee got off to a flying start as they broke the deadlock just 90 seconds in after James Phelan was left unmarked in front of the Glasgow net and took Anthony Rinaldi’s pass, pulled the puck to the left and lifted it past keeper, Kevin Lindskoug.

Glasgow then luckily escaped a barrage of chances that could have seen them quickly buried under an avalanche of goals but in the 11th minute, the home side finally broke through again, this time Jake Elmer picking out the top corner of the Clan goal from the right wing, whilst on the powerplay.

One minute later, Spencer Naas added his name to the scoresheet with an easy tap-in after Elijah Vilio’s saved shot dropped right in front of the American, at the edge of the crease.

With Dundee 3-0 up inside 12 minutes, Clan Head Coach, Jason Morgan replaced Lindskoug with Antti Karjalainen for the rest of the match but he could not stop Naas from netting his second of the night.

In the 17th minute, the Stars gained an extra attacker during a delayed penalty against Glasgow, Drydn Dow dropped a pass back to Naas and he had an easy finish to make it 4-0, but the Clan did hit back straight from the restart as Michael Pelech poked one past Kevin Carr in the Dundee net.
