The Stars began the opening period firmly in control, generating a number of quality chances that tested Taz Burman early.
Despite Dundee’s strong start, Guildford struck first at 07:18, as Cole Ully fired a shot off the rush through traffic and past Emil Kruse to make it 1-0.
The Stars pressed hard for an equaliser, including strong showing on the powerplay, but the Flames’ defence held firm to preserve their one-goal lead heading into the first intermission.
Morten Jürgens converted after sustained pressure in the offensive zone, tying the game at 1-1 at 29:08. Burman made the initial save on a shot from Spencer Naas, but the rebound fell perfectly for Jürgens, who fired it into the net.
Guildford responded just over two minutes later, reclaiming the lead at 31:55. Emil Kruse made a sharp stop on a shot from the point, but Elliot Lewis was first to the rebound and backhanded it into the Stars’ net.
Griffin Luce fired a shot from the left circle, creating a scramble in front of Burman. Otto Nieminen was first to the loose puck, and tucked it home at 42:24 to bring the Stars level at 2-2.
Dundee continued the pressure, which paid off when a slick passing play in the Flames’ zone saw Matt Boudens find Keanu Yamamoto, who fired a one-timer in close past Burman at 48:02 to give the Stars their first lead of the night.
Boudens then extended that advantage at 53:39, redirecting Justin Bean’s shot from the right circle into the net to make it 4-2.
Guildford pulled Burman for an extra attacker late in the third period, but Matt Berry sealed the victory with an empty-net goal, securing the two points and Dundee’s first Elite League win of the season.
