Dundee opened the scoring through Craig Moore, who scored his first of the season at 08:58. A turnover at the Flyers’ blue line allowed Gary Haden to send a pass to Moore, who made no mistake with a nifty move in close to beat Jordan McLaughlin.

Garet Hunt responded for Fife at 14:19, redirecting a point shot from Ben Solder past Carl Stankowski to make it 1-1.

Michael Drábek gave the home side their first lead of the night at 18:20, breaking into the Stars’ zone with speed and beating Stankowski with a backhand shot in close.

A goaltender interference call against Drábek less than a minute into the second period gave the Stars their first powerplay of the night. Captain Travis Ewanyk wasted no time converting, firing a rebound past McLaughlin at 20:53 to level the score.

Tensions began to rise early in the second, with Powell Connor delivering a heavy hit to Joey Pierce behind the Fife net. Connor was assessed a game misconduct for boarding, however, the Flyers were unable to convert on the ensuing powerplay.

Matt DeBoer restored the Stars’ lead at 35:54, picking up a pass from Tyson Laventure from behind the net to beat McLaughlin in close.

Evan Dougherty made it 3-3 late in the second, firing his own rebound past Stankowski at 39:02.

A strong forecheck from the Stars forced a critical error from McLaughlin, with the Fife netminder leaving his crease to play the puck behind his net. However, Gary Haden got there first and sent a centring pass to Kris Inglis, who fired into the empty net to put Dundee ahead.

The Flyers pushed hard for an equaliser, gaining a late powerplay and pulling McLaughlin for an extra attacker. Despite this, the Stars held on to secure their second consecutive victory.
