Dundee gave a second straight start to Welsh shot-stopper, Brython Preece and were once again missing the injured, Romans Semjonovs, while two-way forwards, Jonathan McBean and Ben Brown were in competitive action.

The Flyers would hold a 1-0 lead after the first period as Janne Kivilahti netted his third goal of the weekend but at the start of the second period, Fife Head Coach, Todd Dutiaume swapped out netminder, Shane Owen for Andrew Little and the Scottish keeper would finish out the rest of the game.

Dundee were quick to respond in the middle session as Joham Eriksson netted his second in as many nights, before Bari McKenzie’s instant response put the home team back in front.

However, Eriksson would score again just before the halfway mark to tie the game at 2-2 and moments later, Carter Folk put the Stars in front and then have the chance to make it 4-2 as he was awarded a penalty shot, just 30 seconds later.

The Canadian could not get his effort past Little and that kept Fife within one heading into the final period, but Elijiah Barriga would then give Dundee that two-goal cushion with just under 10 minutes to play.

Former Star, Chris Gerrie did cut the lead back down to one with only a few minutes to play, but the Stars would see out the remaining time to make it back-to-back wins over their rival in the Valentines Series.

Dundee return to competitive action this weekend with a trip to Manchester Storm up first on Saturday night, before they welcome Cardiff Devils on Sunday evening.
