This move will allow the 22-year-old to gain valuable competitive minutes and continue his development with the club, while remaining available to ice for the Stars throughout the remainder of the campaign.
Scott Dutertre, Head Coach of the MKM Dundee Stars, commented: “Jonathan was looking for an opportunity to play more minutes. He’s still a young player and this will give him the ice time that he’s looking for.”
A product of the Dundee Stars junior development programme, McBean made his Elite League debut during the 2022/23 season and has since gone on to make 235 appearances for the club, recording 44 points.
The Great Britain international has featured in 14 games for the Stars this season, adding: “I’m excited to have the opportunity to get some more experience playing in all scenarios in the NIHL whilst also continuing to progress and learn from the players and coaches here. I love being a part of the Stars organisation, so to still be around and be able to be called upon if needed feels like a win-win.”
Everyone at the MKM Dundee Stars wishes Jonathan all the best during his time with Solway, and we look forward to seeing him continue his development while remaining part of the Stars organisation.
