The 26-year-old, Californian joined the Stars from NCAA side, American International College this summer and already he has impressed many with offensive production and gritty work ethic.
So far, the left winger has scored 314 career points in 370 matches, whilst also winning seven collegiate championships in four years.
However, he wasted no time in showing his offensive capabilities here in Dundee, with his eye-catching on-ice performances in preseason.
Through the four warm-up fixtures, Barriga produced two goals, one of which a game-winner, one assist and a Man of the Match performance.
Sharing his thoughts on what he has seen from Elijiah so far, Stars GM and Head Coach, Jeff Mason said: “I think he has been very dynamic offensively and he has had a lot of chemistry with his line so far.
“He has created a lot of chances, I like his work ethic, I think he works really hard and I like his speed.
“I am encouraged that he will continue to get better in our systems and overall as the year progresses.”
