Tonight, sees newly signed forward, Johan Eriksson make his debut for the Trade-Mart Dundee Stars and he is this week’s highlighted player as we take on Fife Flyers at the DIA.

The Stars acquired Eriksson from Guildford Flames this week and the Swede played a total of 18 games for the Surrey side this year, recording five goals and six assists.

When Paul Dixon brought him over to England, he stated that Johan can be an impactful player and was pleased to add someone who had played at a high level in Sweden for a number of years.

Eriksson showcased his offensive capabilities in Guildford but had to compete with a large pool of import forwards for game-time each week.

With the 29-year-old set to make his debut in tonight’s Derby match, Stars Head Coach, Jeff Mason, discussed what he and the fans can expect to see from Johan.

He said: “He is a player that possess pure skill and he is a veteran of the game, who can play a bit of a two-way game but ideally he will help generate some secondary scoring for us.

“Certainly when given the opportunity, he is a player that can score goals and put the puck in the net and I would like to see him take a large offensive role with us going forward and utilise his skill and experience going forward to have success.”

Face-off is at 7pm for tonight’s Tayside Derby and you can purchase tickets HERE.
