The Trade-Mart Dundee Stars are aiming to keep their point streak going as they welcome Coventry Blaze to Tayside, to start of the weekend.

The Stars last two matches have both ended after a penalty shootout with Wednesday’s loss to Glasgow Clan being the first time Marc LeFebvre’s men have been beaten on penalties this season.

After taking three points from their last two games, Dundee now hope to continue adding to their tally of 26 points from 25 games and tonight’s opponents, Coventry sit just one point behind them in seventh.

The Blaze have won their last two games as they claimed back-to-back victories over Nottingham Panthers to end their 2023 campaign on a high and they have also won their last two matches against the Stars in this campaign.

The two teams have not met since late November and Danny Stewart’s side were 4-2 victors in the West Midlands, but also won 5-2 on their last visit to Dundee.

Coventry’s Kobe Roth, Kim Tallberg and Alessio Luciani have all found the back of the net three times each against the Stars this season, whilst Dundee have had eight different scorers of their nine goals against the Blaze, Brendan Harms being the only one to net two.

Looking ahead tonight’s visit from the Blaze, Stars Head Coach, Marc LeFebvre said: “It is going to be another playoff type game, they are right there with us in the standings and you cannot take a night off against anyone.

“We know they are going to come in here, push us hard and give us a great game.

“We have to be prepared to battle, they got some results against a good Nottingham side and we have to be ready for them.

“We have already lost twice to them this year and we cannot afford to lose another one.”

Face-off for tonight’s home game against Coventry is at 7pm and you can buy your tickets HERE!
