Scott Dutertre’s men are searching for their first win of the 2026/27 campaign and are coming off a tough weekend which saw them suffer an 8-1 road defeat to the Belfast Giants and a 4-3 loss to the Coventry Blaze at home.
Rasmus Nousiainen scored twice against the Blaze, while Maxim Eliseev and captain Travis Ewanyk also found the back of the net during the weekend.
Dominick Jaglar earned EIHL Team of the Week honours with his performance against the Giants, posting a .933 save percentage and allowing just two goals on 30 shots after coming into the game in relief of Vladislav Pestov at the halfway point.
“We’ve had time to rest and recharge and get back to work,” reflected Dutertre. “It was a tough weekend for travel but at the same time you have to show up and do the job every day. We’re really fortunate that we get paid to work for two hours a day when it comes to that. We spent a lot of time getting to Belfast, then there was a lot of time to get home so it felt more like a road game on Sunday. The Belfast game was pretty rough but for us at home we had a chance to win that game and a couple of mental mistakes cost us.”
The Glasgow Clan have had a slow start to the 2026/27 season, picking up just one win across their first five matches, including two regular season defeats.
Their lone win of the season came against the Fife Flyers on opening night, when they defeated the Kirkcaldy side 4-3 in a shootout.
Last Sunday saw Mike Sirant’s squad suffer a heavy 6-1 defeat to the Sheffield Steelers at Braehead Arena, followed by a midweek loss to the Manchester Storm on the road.
Cade Neilson leads the club with five points across all competition, having formed a formidable third line alongside newcomers Josh Tarzwell and Cole Kodsi, who have recorded four and three points respectively.
“We just need to be concerned about us right now and just make sure we do a good job of sticking together,” added Dutertre. “There’s going to be highs and lows to the season, it’s just unfortunate it’s right at the start, but our room is good right now and everybody is there for each other. We have to draw a line in the sand at some point and I think it’s probably a good time to do it this weekend.”
Faceoff is scheduled for 7pm at the Dundee Ice Arena.
