The Kitmart Dundee Stars are delighted to announce that fan favourite, Drydn Dow has re-signed for the 2019/20 season.

The Canadian defenceman iced on 66 occasions last season, racking up 42 points and netting 10 goals along the way.

Dow joined from the University of Calgary last summer and also brought over 200 games of experience in the WHL, one of Canada’s top junior hockey leagues.

The Calgary native returns for a second year in Tayside and was a standout on the blueline last season. Omar Pacha moved swiftly to lock up the 26-year old for another year.

After securing Drydn’s services for the next Elite League campaign, Pacha said: “Signing Drydn back was one of my main objectives over the course of the summer.

“He was a defenseman that I think started the year really strong for us and throughout the season he was one of our key guys.

“Overall, he brought a lot of playmaking skills at the back, he was able to join the rush and he was great defensively for us.”

In his first season of professional hockey, Dow impressed the Stars head coach and Pacha added: “As a first-year guy, I think he shows a lot of potential for next season and he was obviously a key guy who logged a lot of minutes and he was very reliable.

“I really rate Drydn and I think he can be one of the better defenceman in the league next year.”

Drydn will receive a scholarship from the University of Dundee this season.

Early bird season tickets are on sale NOW from the Dundee Ice Arena box office.

Drydn is our first signing of the summer as coach Pacha starts to build the foundations for next year’s squad.
