The MKM Dundee Stars are on the road tonight as they travel to the Skydome Arena to take on the Coventry Blaze.

Dundee are coming off a midweek clash against the Belfast Giants, where, despite coming back from 5-1 down to make it 5-4, the Stars couldn’t complete the comeback and ultimately fell 7-4.

“I’m proud of the guys for coming back and showing some character, especially in the third period,” said head coach Marc LeFebvre. “You can’t be giving up seven goals — if you score four, you should be winning those games.”

Dundee and Coventry have met once so far this season, with the Stars claiming a 5-4 win on the road.

Otto Nieminen scored the eventual game-winning goal for Dundee, while Jonathan McBean and Ben Almquist also found the back of the net.

Meanwhile, Matthew Gleason and Jere Vertanen both scored twice for the Blaze.

Since then, Kevin Moore’s side has produced a mixed run of results, but have picked up wins over league-leading Nottingham Panthers and the Sheffield Steelers.

Coventry currently sit eight points above the Stars in eighth place, with Marc LeFebvre’s men looking to close that gap as they continue their push toward a playoff spot.

“It’s got to be a playoff mentality [against Coventry], our season is almost basically on the line,” concluded LeFebvre. “We’ve won in that building before, so we’ve got to go in and wear them down.”
