A fast-paced opening period in Dundee saw Fife earn three powerplay opportunities within the first ten minutes. The Stars killed off the first two with ease, however the third proved costly, as Anton Karlsson converted on the man advantage with a shot from the right circle past Jarrett Fiske at 10:12.

The Flyers controlled the remainder of the first, outshooting the Stars 20-8. Despite the pressure, Dundee’s defence held firm, and strong goaltending from Fiske kept the score at 1-0 heading into the second period.

David Booth doubled the Flyers’ lead at the halfway mark, tapping the puck past Fiske on the back door after some quick passing on the rush.

A slashing call against Garet Hunt gave the Stars their first powerplay of the night, and they came inches from pulling one back as Christian Purboo was forced into a diving save to deny Bradley Schoonbaert.

Booth then struck again at 34:56, carrying the puck into the high slot and snapping a shot over the shoulder of Fiske to make it 3-0.

Ethan Somoza pounced on a turnover in the Stars’ zone, finding himself alone in the high slot and firing the puck past Fiske at 42:48.

Spencer Naas pulled a goal back for the Stars at 46:22, collecting a pass from behind the Fife net and beating Purboo in close to make it 4-1.

Anton Karlsson scored his second of the night at 51:26, redirecting a shot from Johan Porsberger past Fiske.

Matt Boudens made it a three-goal game less than a minute later at 52:24, redirecting Jackson DeSouza’s shot from the right circle past Purboo.

A slashing call against the Flyers gave the Dundee a late powerplay opportunity, which the Stars converted on at 57:56 as Drydn Dow’s shot deflected off Matt Berry and into the Fife net.

David Booth completed his first EIHL hat trick at 58:29, beating Fiske in close to secure the two points for the Flyers.
