A strong opening period saw the Stars outshoot the Flyers 19-6 and generate a number of quality scoring chances which put Shane Owen to the test early.
Johnny Curran, on his home debut, picked up his second point in as many nights, feeding a backhand pass to Kameron Kielly off the rush who made no mistake in firing past Owen at 13:36.
Dundee gained their first powerplay opportunity of the night at 17:56 after Jonas Emmerdahl was assessed a two-minute minor for tripping. Spencer Naas made it count, collecting a picture-perfect pass from Kielly and wristing the puck past Owen at 18:51 to make it 2-0.

A too-many-men penalty against the Flyers proved costly, with Bradley Schoonbaert feeding Spencer Naas in the high slot to beat Owen at 30:56.
After Fife captain Garet Hunt was assessed a game misconduct for a check to the head, Dundee went on a five-minute powerplay.
Otto Nieminen converted at 38:09 to make it 4-0, poking a loose puck past Owen for the Stars’ third powerplay goal of the night.

Keaton Jameson picked up Fife’s second game misconduct of the night, taking exception to an open-ice hit by Kris Inglis on Ethan Somoza and dropping the gloves with the Stars’ defenceman.
Andrew McLean got Fife on the board at 47:27, picking up a pass from Justin Ducharme and beating Jarrett Fiske in close to make it 4-1.
Ben Almquist restored the Stars’ five-goal cushion at 51:23, redirecting a shot from Jackson DeSouza past Owen.
Ducharme made it 5-2 late in the period, firing the puck above a sprawling Fiske after the Stars’ netminder had made the initial pad save.
In the closing minutes of an already feisty third period, Jeremy Masella and Jackson DeSouza dropped the gloves before Morten Jurgens and Milan Lucic followed suit, with the Stars skating away with a massive home ice victory.
