The Trade-Mart Dundee Stars made another late comeback attempt but time ran out before they could find an equaliser against their Scottish Rivals, Glasgow Clan.

By Kris Smith

The opening period saw the Stars get straight onto the attack as they tried to get off to a strong start as despite some resistance from the Clan, Dundee would breakthrough to open the scoring inside six minutes.

Breaking out from their own end, Jake Elmer rushed forward down the right wing and squared a perfect pass across the ice onto the blade of Brett Gravelle, who would unleash a rapid wrist shot into the top corner of Lucas Brine’s goal.

Corey Neilson’s men responded well to going a goal behind and began to pile lots of pressure on the Dundee defence, which eventually resulted in an equaliser as Liam Finlay’s slapshot from the blueline in the 10th minute, would beat a screened Richard Sabol in the Dundee net.

Both sides had a number of chances to add to their tallies through the opening 20 minutes but they remained all square heading into the second period.

The visitors would then take the lead on 23 minutes as after a few lucky bounces, Keaton Jameson was able to skate on to a bobbling puck and turn it past Sabol.
