Justin Bean opened the scoring in his return to the lineup, firing a slap shot from the point past Taz Burman at 13:00.

Kameron Kielly made it 2-0 eighty three seconds into the second period, pouncing on a turnover in the Flames’ zone and beating Burman with a one timer.

Jack Jacome got the visitors on the board at 27:57, poking home a rebound after Emil Kruse had made a save on Marcus Tesink.

A turnover by the Flames sent Spencer Naas on a breakaway, who made no mistake and beat Burman five-hole at 30:48.

Despite Kruse making an initial stop on a shot from Travis Brown, Jake Coughler was first to the rebound and sent it into the Stars’ net to make it 3-2 at 46:24.

Fresh off of the opening goal less than 24 hours ago in Cardiff, Jonathan McBean scored to make it 4-2 with a redirection on a shot by Jackson DeSouza at 50:34.

The Flames once again made it a one-goal game at 51:43, with Lewis Hook picking up a cross crease pass from Jake Coughler and tapping the puck past Kruse.

Despite late pressure by the Flames, and a miss on a wide open net by Lewis Hook, the Stars held on to secure their first win of the new year.
