Coventry opened the scoring through Kim Tallberg at 08:45, carrying the puck into the Stars’ zone and firing a shot from the left circle past Emil Kruse.
William Boysen made it 2-0 late in the first period, crashing the net to redirect a shot from former Star Elijiah Barriga past Kruse.

The Blaze added a third on the powerplay at 32:49, with Jere Vertanen blasting a one-timer from the point.
Dundee responded at 34:18 through Bradley Schoonbaert, who capitalised on a neutral-zone turnover and fired a shot past Mat Robson to make it 3-1.
Matt Boudens pulled the Stars within one at 38:39, picking up the puck behind the Blaze net and wrapping it around past Robson.

Otto Nieminen levelled the score at 50:48, slotting home on a rebound after Drydn Dow’s shot was saved by Robson.
The Stars took their first lead of the night just over a minute later, as Kameron Kielly picked up a pass from Spencer Naas and fired past Robson at 52:02.
Coventry responded at 54:32, with Mack Stewart redirecting Tallberg’s shot past Kruse to make it 4-4.
Neither side could break the deadlock in regulation, sending the game to overtime.
Justin Bean secured the extra point for Dundee, firing a shot off the rush which deflected off a Blaze defender and past Robson.
