The Trade-Mart Dundee Stars made it a Burns Night to remember as they came from 2-0 down and scored six unanswered goals to defeat Glasgow Clan on Saturday night.

The Stars lost Jake Elmer and Xavier Pouliot to injury ahead of the match but that meant Canadian forward, Alex Robert would come back into the fold and it would not be the start Dundee wanted as the visitors would skate into an early lead.

On four minutes, Felix Pare turned home the rebound from Nick Prkusic’s effort which had initially been stopped by Dundee keeper, Richard Sabol, but then dropped perfectly for the Clan player to open the scoring.

The Stars then made a push for a quick equaliser but their former goaltender, Lucas Brine would shut the door to keep Glasgow in front and did well to deny all 13 shots he faced in the opening period.

The Taysiders even had two powerplay chances in the first session but were left frustrated after the second penalty for too-many men was called whilst Spencer Naas was in behind the Clan’s defence with a route to goal.

In the second period, Glasgow would double their lead after 27 minutes when Deven Sideroff stripped the puck from the Dundee defence on the Clan blue line and broke away down the ice, he then calmly picked his spot past Sabol and flung the puck into the roof of Sabol’s net.
