TRADE-MART DUNDEE STARS 1 NOTTINGHAM PANTHERS 2
The Trade-Mart Dundee Stars fell behind early before making a big push to find their way back into Saturday’s contest against Nottingham Panthers at the DIA but were only able to score inside the final minute, as they fell to defeat.

Goaltender, Jarrett Fiske was brought in between the pipes for Dundee and he would be beaten twice within the opening four minutes, with Zsombor Garat and Kristoff Kontos firing the visitors ahead.
Garat was able to move the Panthers in front with a slapshot from the left wing that beat the American keeper at his near post before two minutes later, Kontos finished off Mitchell Fossier’s cross-goal pass.
It would then be a very tight and cagey affair as they Stars tried to push their way back into the match but there would be no goals for the next 55 minutes, despite numerous powerplays for both teams.
Whilst Danny Stewart’s men had killed off a pair of penalties in the second period, the home team started the third session by taking three straight penalties but survived the continued pressure from the English outfit.
However, when the Nottingham captain, Sam Herr was called for a tripping foul inside the final minute and with only 19 seconds left on the clock, Spencer Naas shot past Jason Grande to dash his hopes of recording a shutout on the night.
The loss leaves the Stars down in eighth place as Glasgow Clan move above them in the Elite League table but the two sides can swap places tomorrow as Dundee visit Fife Flyers for the penultimate Tayside Derby of the season.
