Dundee Stars paid their annual visit to Ninewells Hospital Children’s Ward yesterday morning to hand out teddies from last week’s teddy-toss game.

The Children’s Ward is one of many organisations that teddies are donated to with others including Tay FM’s Mission Christmas and Wave 102’s Gifts for Kids.

Last Friday’s game seen a record number of teddies hit the ice following Justin Fox’s early goal.

Stars GM Omar Pacha commented, ‘the teddy toss is a fantastic tradition in hockey. As an organisation, we are continuing to work proactively with the Dundee community and this year’s record breaking number of teddies is another great indication of the progress that has taken place this season within Stars in the Community’.

Play specialist Una Paton said, “The children had great fun this morning and were very excited to meet the team and choose a teddy. Thank you for thinking of us at this time of year.”

Dundee Stars are back at home tonight with rivals Fife Flyers in town! Face-off is 7:30pm with tickets still available at the arena box office and online.
