The Trade-Mart Dundee Stars are delighted to announce that defenseman, Craig Moore has signed a one-year contract extension for the 2025-2026 Elite League campaign.

The 29-year-old has signed up for a seventh season with the club and Marc LeFebvre has continued to keep Moore a part of his squad in every season he has coached in Dundee.

Last season, Craig iced on 58 occasions for the Stars and contributed seven points from blueline as the team reached the playoff Quarter-Finals, a feat the club has reached in five of Moore’s six years with the club.

The stay-at-home defender had a career best goalscoring season as he netted three times for the Stars and has now racked up 319 Elite League appearances for the Stars, with 50 points (7G, 43A) and 165 penalty minutes, across his previous six seasons.

After playing his junior hockey in Canada and the United States, LeFebvre brought in the Scot for two seasons and in his second year, Moore was part of the first ever Stars team to reach the Playoff Finals Weekend.

Hailing from Kirkcaldy, Craig has also spent time with four other Elite League clubs as after making his professional debut in Dundee, he then joined Cardiff Devils for two seasons and had a short spell with Fife Flyers.

In 2019, he then completed the Scottish hat-trick by icing with Glasgow Clan for one year and after COVID-19, he returned to Dundee and helped the team to reach their second ever, playoff semi-finals.

Moore then began the 2022-2023 season with Nottingham Panthers before swapping back to Dundee mid-season and then re-connecting with LeFebvre the following summer.

LEFEBVRE ON MOORE

Once Moore’s extension was finalised, Stars Director of Hockey Operations and Head Coach, Marc LeFebvre, said: “We are really happy to have Craig with us for another year, he is a veteran British player now and I think when I switched him back on to defence, we could see how well he played after that.

“We tried him at forward at the start of the year but he is a defenseman at heart, he skates really well and is a right-handed Brit, which a lot of teams are coveting.

“He brings a lot of energy and he just gets better all the time, obviously he is a bit older now but he still excels on our backend.

“The thing we want to have in our team is players than can move the puck well and Craig can do that, he is never out of place and the guys all love him in the room, which always helps because when you have good people around the organisation, it is easy to bring them back.

“He knows how we want to play and we are excited to have him back again.”

CRAIG ON STAYING WITH THE STARS

After signing up for his seventh season in Dundee, Craig said: “I am super excited to be staying in Dundee and I think we fell a little short on what we wanted to accomplish this year, with getting to the final four but hopefully this season we can build a good team and push on further.

“Continuity is a good thing, I have played for Marc for nearly all my years in Dundee – minus one or two – so it is good to know what you are coming back to and what is expected of you.

“I know that he always recruits a good group of guys and hopefully this next year will be the same and we can have a really good team that will get to the final four.”

In his career so far, Craig has featured in 677 matches, recorded 47 goals, 113 assists and collected 305 penalty minutes, while also playing in 38 playoff games and scoring nine points (3G, 6A) with 42 penalty minutes.

Craig is our third signing of this summer and joins Drydn Dow, Jonathan McBeanJarrett Fiske and Jackson Desouza on next season’s roster.
