The MKM Dundee Stars are gearing up for a midweek clash, as they welcome the Manchester Storm to the Dundee Ice Arena tonight.

The Stars are coming off a three-point weekend, securing an overtime point in a 4-3 loss to the Cardiff Devils on Saturday before knocking off the reigning EIHL Playoff Champions, the Nottingham Panthers, 4-3 on the road.

Bradley Schoonbaert scored twice against the Devils, as did Keanu Yamamoto against the Panthers, while Jonathan McBean, Kameron Kielly and Drydn Dow also found the back of the net over the weekend.

“I think proud is an understatement,” said head coach Marc LeFebvre. “Full credit to the guys — they bought into everything this weekend, got a big point against Cardiff and then obviously a big road victory against a very good Nottingham team.”

Manchester and Dundee last met towards the end of December, when the Storm claimed a 3-2 shootout victory in Altrincham. Captain Drydn Dow and Otto Nieminen found the back of the net for the Stars, while Joseph Nardi and J.D. Dudek scored in regulation for the Storm before Dante Hannoun added the game-winning shootout goal.

Gary Haden leads the Storm offensively with 32 points in 32 games, while Brady Gilmour and Brandon Cutler have both recorded five points in their last three games.

Cam Critchlow’s men currently sit fifth in the EIHL standings with 41 points. However, they have produced up-and-down results as of late, winning five of their last ten games with five going to either overtime or a shootout.

Faceoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Dundee Ice Arena, with tickets on sale NOW!
