Ben Brown opened the scoring for the Flyers at 02:18, cutting down the wing past the Stars’ defence and beating Emil Kruse with a quick wrist shot.

Spencer Naas levelled the score at 13:52, pouncing on a rebound after Shane Owen had made a number of saves in close.

Logan Neilson restored the one-goal lead for Fife at 15:08, capitalising on a turnover in the neutral zone and firing a shot from the right circle into the Stars’ net.

Morten Jurgens scored the lone goal of the second period, carrying the puck into the Flyers’ zone and firing a powerful shot from the high slot past Owen to make it 2-2 at 28:33.

A back-and-forth third period saw chances at both ends, but neither side could find the back of the net, sending the game into overtime.

A too-many-men penalty proved costly for the Stars, as Logan Neilson scored his second of the game with a one-timer past Kruse at 64:39 to secure the win for Fife.
