The MKM Dundee Stars continued their winning ways, picking up a massive 5-4 win on the road against the Coventry Blaze.

Dundee struck first at 05:34 through Matt Berry, who redirected Drydn Dow’s point shot past Dershahn Stewart on the powerplay.

Jere Vertanen equalised at 11:53, capitalising on extended zone pressure with a shot from the point through traffic that beat Emil Kruse.

The Stars scored their second powerplay goal of the period at 13:08. Stewart made an initial pad save, but Ben Almquist was first to the rebound and tucked it past the sprawling Coventry netminder.

Vertanen levelled the score once again, converting on a 5-on-3 advantage with a one-timer from the right circle past Kruse at 17:35.

Jonathan McBean scored the lone goal of a back-and-forth second period, finding himself alone in front of the Coventry net and sending the puck past Stewart at 37:03.

The Blaze began the third period on the powerplay, and Matthew Gleason converted at 41:04 with a redirection of Grant Mismash’s shot to tie the game 3-3.

Otto Nieminen responded almost immediately to restore Dundee’s lead at 41:40. Griffin Luce fired a shot intentionally wide of the net, with Keanu Yamamoto in perfect position to feed Nieminen at the back post for a tap-in past Stewart.

Matt Berry scored his second of the night at 49:28, pouncing on a loose puck after Stewart had turned aside a shot from Spencer Naas to make it 5-3.

Gleason pulled one back for the Blaze at 52:15, putting the puck past Kruse in close for his second of the night.

Despite a late push from the home side, Dundee held firm and secured two crucial points.
