After a strong start to their Challenge Cup campaign where they collected four crucial points, the MKM Dundee Stars will look to carry that momentum into this weekend's two Challenge Cup fixtures despite a midweek defeat to Fife Flyers.

The MKM Dundee Stars first travel to Glasgow to face the Clan tonight, before hosting the Belfast Giants for the first time this season on Sunday.

Reflecting on Tuesday’s defeat, head coach Marc LeFebvre said, “It was a learning lesson for us. It’s good to get humbled a little bit after you’ve had a successful weekend, especially against a rival like that, so we know we can’t have an off night like that again.”

The Stars have already beaten both Belfast and Glasgow this season, overcoming the Giants 7-4 on the road and defeating the Clan 6-2 in Dundee’s home opener.

Hampus Olsson, Keanu Yamamoto, Justin Bean and Ben Almquist each scored twice across those games, while Kameron Kielly, Matt Berry, Jackson DeSouza, Matt Boudens, and Kris Inglis also found the back of the net for the Stars.

Since then, both opponents have bounced back with wins of their own — Glasgow taking victories over Fife and Manchester, while Belfast also overcame the Flyers.

Tristin Langan and Brayden Burke have both recorded three points in Glasgow’s Challenge Cup campaign, while returning Giant J.J. Piccinich leads the league with six points in just two games.

“We need to get back to our work ethic — that’s the key to our success,” added LeFebvre. “We’re not overly skilled like a lot of teams, so we’ve got to battle and fight for every inch. The guys realise that you can’t take anyone lightly in this league.”

Tickets are on sale NOW for Sunday’s clash against the Belfast Giants, with faceoff scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Dundee Ice Arena.
