The MKM Dundee Stars return home tomorrow night for a clash against their western rivals, the Glasgow Clan, before travelling to the Utilita Arena on Sunday to face the Sheffield Steelers.

Marc LeFebvre’s men are coming off a midweek overtime victory against the Manchester Storm, having claimed five of the last six available points.

Keanu Yamamoto scored his third goal in two games, while Ben Almquist also found the back of the net in regulation before Spencer Naas netted the game-winner in overtime.

“It wasn’t pretty, but I’m happy for the guys and the run of form we’ve had recently,” said head coach Marc LeFebvre. “Kruse made some massive saves, especially in the second period to keep us in it, and we found a way to win which is all that matters.”

Dundee and Glasgow last met just under two weeks ago at the Dundee Ice Arena, where the Clan skated away with a 6-1 victory.

Since then, Glasgow have picked up a win over the Nottingham Panthers but have come up short in their last two outings against the Guildford Flames and Belfast Giants.

Tristin Langan leads the Clan with 25 points, followed closely by captain Deven Sideroff with 23 and Brayden Burke with 19.

“We’ve got to go into this with a playoff mentality and treat it as a playoff game,” said head coach Marc LeFebvre. “They’ve made some changes recently, so they’ll be looking to get some points and widen the gap.”

This will be the fourth meeting of the season between the Stars and Steelers, with the English side having claimed each of the previous three encounters.

Sheffield have produced mixed results of late, winning three of their last six games, and currently sit fourth in the EIHL standings with 47 points.

Stephen Harper has recorded eight points in his last four games, while Mitchell Heard has seven over the same stretch.

“It’s a tough building to go to in Sheffield. We’ve struggled against them all year so far, but on Sunday we’re looking to turn that around,” concluded LeFebvre.
