As we continue our ‘Look Back’ series, today’s article will highlight one Star Player from the 2008-2009 season and the chosen player is – Liam Greig

By Kris Smith

The tough forward from Kirkcaldy joined the Stars in 2006 from local rivals, Fife Flyers and he played a total of four seasons in Dundee.

Prior to joining the Stars, Greig had spent three years with the Flyers, playing in the British National league and the Northern League.

Liam quickly earned a reputation as the team’s enforcer and was willing to go toe-to-toe with anyone that confronted his teammates.

In the 2008-2009 season, he played in 14 Northern League matches and scored four goals and 11 assisted times for 15 points.

In that season, he also spent 44 minutes in the penalty box and helped the Stars reach two cup finals.

After playing 72 games for Dundee between 2006 and 2010, Liam moved back across the River Tay for the 2010-2011 season and played his final year of professional hockey with the Flyers.

Next-up in our ‘Look Back’ series we will be bringing you a special Stats of the Stars for the 2008-2009 season and it will be available here at 12pm tomorrow.
