The MKM Dundee Stars are delighted to announce the signing of Canadian forward Brodi Stuart for the 2026/27 season.

Stuart, 26, began last season with the Tulsa Oilers (ECHL), where he played under Stars Head Coach Scott Dutertre alongside fellow signing Josh Nelson, before moving to DVTK Jegesmedvék (Erste Liga) in January.

The Langley, British Columbia native was originally selected 84th overall by the Kamloops Blazers in the 2015 WHL Prospects Draft, and would go on to make 214 appearances for the club while serving as an alternate captain during his final two seasons.

Following the 2018/19 campaign, Stuart was recognised by the Blazers for his hard work and leadership, receiving both the Doris Rubel Award (Most Dedicated Player) and Dean Evason Award (Inspirational Leadership & Ability).

He made the move to Europe ahead of the 2021/22 season with Steel Wings Linz (AlpsHL), where he recorded 41 points in 39 games, before signing with Black Wings Linz (ICEHL) for the 2022/23 campaign.

Stuart spent the following three seasons with the Wings, making 105 regular-season appearances and a further 29 playoff appearances before returning to North America with Tulsa.

Known for his relentless work ethic and physical playstyle, Stuart will provide further depth to an already promising Stars lineup.

After signing with the Stars, Stuart said:

“I’m super excited. I’ve heard nothing but great things about Dundee, the city, the organisation and the fans as well. I know Scott a little bit too, having played for him for a few months in Tulsa, so I’m excited to work with him again.”

Stuart is also looking forward to reuniting with some familiar faces:

“I think Scott is a great coach and an even better person, so it made the decision a lot easier for me, especially knowing he was going to be in Dundee. I know Josh Nelson as well,, and it’s always nice to get signed early rather than waiting later into the summer.”

Finally, he shared a message for the Stars fans:

“I’m super excited to be coming to Dundee and playing in front of all of you. I’ve heard so many great things about how passionate and emotional you are, so I can’t wait to get over there and play in front of you guys.”

Head Coach Scott Dutertre spoke on what makes Stuart such an effective player:

“The way he plays, if you don’t notice him, he’s probably had a really good game. I’m not saying he can’t be dynamic and score goals — he has a touch around the net when he wants to — but he’s a very well-rounded two-way forward who plays both ends of the rink really well.

“It almost looks like he isn’t working at times because he’s such a smart player and always seems to be in the right spots.”

Stuart is our 12th signing of the summer, joining Josh Nelson, Jonathan McBean, Ben BrownTravis Ewanyk, Keaton Jameson, Craig Moore, Evan Brand, Tyson Laventure, Gary Haden and Matt DeBoer, and Zack Hoffman on next season’s roster.
