Brown, who can play at both forward and defence, returns to Dundee after previously making 50 appearances in a Stars jersey between 2021 and 2023.
A product of the Dundee Stars junior development programme, Brown spent last season with the Fife Flyers, where he registered three points in 54 games while playing primarily on the blue line.
Following his initial stint with the Stars, Brown joined the Milton Keynes Lightning (NIHL) ahead of the 2023/24 season, recording 27 points in 74 games while helping the club lift the NIHL Cup before joining the Flyers on a two-way contract during the 2024/25 campaign.
The 22-year-old has also enjoyed success at SNL level, helping the Dundee Comets secure two SNL Playoff Championships alongside the SNL Cup, while also lifting the SNL Championship with the Dundee Rockets during their inaugural season.
Internationally, Brown has represented Great Britain at both the Under-18 and Under-20 level, winning two bronze medals while also being named the top-scoring defenceman at the IIHF U20 World Championship Division II Group A tournament.
On returning to his hometown club, Brown said:
“I’m really excited to be back playing in the same rink I learned the game in and playing for the team I grew up watching. That’s a really big thing for me.
“When I spoke to Scott, and he told me about the identity we’re looking to build here this year, it was something that I really wanted to be a part of, and I’m looking forward to improving and working with him every day.”
“I’m super excited to meet all the guys and get things going, and to see all the fans in the rink come September, I cannot wait to see the DIA rocking!”

“When watching Ben’s game tape from last season in Fife, I was really impressed with how he handled being put into different situations because of the roster juggling they had throughout the year.
“There were times he featured on the powerplay, and his speed is really good too. Initially, he was slated as a defenceman, but I really like the fact he’s such a versatile player — a real Swiss Army knife type of guy.”
Brown is our 3rd signing of the summer, joining Josh Nelson and Jonathan McBean on next season’s roster.
