The Kitmart Dundee Stars are delighted announce our 1st ever Pride jerseys.
These jerseys will be worn at the league wide Pride weekend games, which start on Friday 24th January 2020, at Dundee Ice Arena. Where the Dundee Stars will host the Glasgow Clan.
Dundee Stars Commercial Manager, Michael Ward added “We thought it was an appropriate time to launch our Pride jerseys to coincide with the Dundee Pride event, being held in the city on Saturday.”
“With the assistance of our fantastic digital partners at Blue2 Digital, we have also changed the look of our website and team logo to show our support during the weekend.”
“Unfortunately, the team will be unable to attend the event this season, as the they will be travelling and playing a game on Saturday in Belfast. But we wish everyone involved every success and to have a great weekend.”
Elite League chairman Tony Smith also spoke of his delight at being able to carry on the message shown by fans during the Play Off weekend in April.
“Several of our teams have held their own individual events during past seasons, but I am delighted that we’ll carry this important message across the EIHL,” he said.
“We’re very proud to have a diverse fanbase across ice hockey in the UK. Our fans showed at the Play-off weekend that inclusivity is something they value in our sport and we want everyone to feel welcome whenever they’re in our arenas or attending events.”
Ryan Pettengill, Executive Director of You Can Play added:
“You Can Play is proud to be a part of the Elite Ice Hockey League’s ongoing work to promote inclusion in and around the sport of hockey.
“The EIHL and You Can Play partnership sends an important message to athletes, coaches, and fans throughout the UK and beyond about how important this work is in creating a safe and healthy sport culture for all.”
