The MKM Dundee Stars are delighted to announce that defenseman, Kris Inglis has signed a one-year contract extension for the 2025-2026 Elite League campaign.

The 26-year-old will lace up for his boyhood club for the ninth straight season and will continue to be a strong presence on the back-end, whilst constantly bringing his hard-working and dedicated attitude every day.

Last season saw Inglis ice in 68 matches, contributing 11 points and the Dundonian blueliner has now racked up 398 Elite League appearances, with 45 points (2G, 43A) and 252 penalty minutes, across his previous eight seasons.

Kris first joined the Stars in 2016, while he continued playing with Scottish National League side, Dundee Comets on a two-way contract and also whilst icing with the Dundee Stars Under 20’s.

Inglis first came into the Stars setup during Marc LeFebvre’s first spell in charge and he would go on to feature 37 times under the Canadian in the 2016-2017 campaign.

LEFEBVRE ON INGLIS

Once he had secured the return of Inglis, Stars Director of Hockey Operations and Head Coach, Marc LeFebvre, said: “I thought Kris came on leaps and bounds throughout the year and you saw him become more confident, especially when he was playing with Drydn (Dow).

“I thought he was a good physical presence and whilst we do not expect too much offence from him, you know you will get the effort every night.

“He is solid, he is physical and he just continues to get better every year and more seasoned as a veteran, but he has also been a stalwart of this club now for a number of years.

“It was an easy decision to bring him back.”

KRIS ON EXTENDING HIS TIME IN HIS HOMETOWN

After agreeing his new deal, Kris said: “I am buzzing and it is never a hard decision to sign back again for another season, so I am over the moon.

“I think there is still a lot we can accomplish, we ended last year with a bit of disappointment as our goal is always to reach the final four, so that makes you eager to get back at it and make it the following season.

“There is highs and lows throughout the season but for my personal development, I felt I had a lot of opportunities through playing with different partners and the main one was getting to play with Drydn and face top lines throughout this league.

“Last year I managed to stay injury free for the first time in a few years, so that was a big positive and I think things are trending in the right way and they are also trending the right way for the club, so it is an exciting time.”

In his career so far, Kris has featured in 521 matches, recorded 64 goals and 111 assists, while also collecting 440 penalty minutes.

Kris is our ninth signing of the summer and joins Drydn DowJonathan McBeanJarrett FiskeJackson DesouzaCraig MooreCraig Garrigan, Keanu Yamamoto and Dominick Jaglar on next season’s roster.

Inglis will again wear #11 for the Stars.
