The Trade-Mart Dundee Stars are delighted to announce the signing of goaltender Dominick Jaglar on a full-time contract for the 2025-2026 Elite League campaign.

The 18-year-old goalie will make the step up to full-time hockey with the Stars this season after joining the club last summer on a two-way deal with Aberdeen Lynx of the Scottish National League.

Dominick played 26 times for Aberdeen in the 2024-2025 season as he backstopped the Lynx to the SNL title, while posting a save percentage of .913% and recording a goals against average (GAA) of 2.90.

Jaglar also stopped .918% of the 90 shots he faced in two SNL Cup contests and held a .936% and 2.60 GAA across five SNL Playoffs matches.

The Dundee-born shot-stopper has previously spent time playing in Finland, England and the Stars junior system.

He is also dual-national with both Scottish and Czech nationality, who has represented both Scotland and GB on the national stage.

Dominick has been involved with the Stars for two seasons now as he first began training with the team during the 2023-2024 campaign, whilst Kevin Carr was injured and he also has an NIHL1 North Championship and NIHL1 North Cup Championship to his name.

LEFEBVRE ON JAGLAR

After bringing Jaglar in on a full-time basis, Stars Director of Hockey Operations and Head Coach, Marc LeFebvre, said: “Dom is a young and upcoming goaltender and this is the next step in his development.
“He has gained some quality practice time with us the past two seasons along with getting starting minutes with Aberdeen.

“We feel to maximize the number of import skaters next season, carrying three goalies was imperative.

“Not only do we have two quality import goalies but now we have one of Britain’s up and coming goaltenders coming into an environment where he can learn and continue his development on a full-time basis.

JAGLAR ON STEPPING UP

After penning his first full-time deal, an ecstatic Dominick said: “I am delighted, obviously growing up in Dundee it is a big thing and a real full circle moment.

“It is an incredible feeling, it is the dream of any kid and it is incredible to get this opportunity that I have.”

Discussing his two-way deal last year and now the step up to full-time, he continued: “It was a good season for me with both the Stars and with Aberdeen as well, that was a huge year and getting to play most of the games was good for me.

“The opportunity to go full-time is fun and intriguing for me and I really want to take the next step forward.

“Marc reached out to me and asked if I would be interested in going full-time and I wanted to take that on board because this has always been a dream of mine.”

Jaglar is our eighth signing of this summer and joins Drydn DowJonathan McBeanJarrett Fiske, Jackson Desouza, Craig Moore, Craig Garrigan and Keanu Yamamoto on next season’s roster.
