The MKM Dundee Stars are looking to end 2025 on a high note, as they take on their local rivals, the Fife Flyers, tonight in Dundee before travelling to Kirkcaldy for a New Year’s Eve clash tomorrow.

Marc LeFebvre’s men are coming off back-to-back defeats against the Glasgow Clan, and will be looking to bounce back in the first Tayside Derby of the regular season.

“I thought we competed hard for the most part — it was one of our better defensive games so far this season,” said LeFebvre postgame. “Fiske gave us a chance, but we’ve got to reward him by getting some goals on the board.”

The Flyers were on the receiving end of a 9-0 defeat to Belfast last Friday, before responding with a shootout win over the Giants in Fife on Sunday.

Dundee and Fife have already met four times this season, all in Challenge Cup action, with both sides claiming two wins.

The Flyers took the first two encounters, picking up a 4-0 victory in Dundee and a 5-1 win in Fife the following week. The Stars quickly responded, securing a 5-4 overtime victory and a 3-2 shootout win in their most recent clashes.

Captain Drydn Dow leads the Stars offensively against the Flyers with four points, followed closely by Spencer Naas, Matt Berry and Kameron Kielly with three apiece.

For Fife, Johan Porsberger leads all players in goals with four, while Josh Winquist tops the Flyers’ scoring against Dundee with nine points.

Former NHLers David Booth and Milan Lucic have added some much needed depth to the Flyers’ lineup, something Head Coach Jamie Russell will hope is on display against the Stars.

Dundee will once again be without defencemen Justin Bean and Kris Inglis, who remain sidelined with lower- and upper-body injuries respectively. Goaltender Emil Kruse may dress, and will be a gametime decision for LeFebvre.

New signings Zach Taylor and Quinn Ryan will be in the lineup for the Stars.

Faceoff for tonight’s Tayside derby is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., with tickets on sale now.
