A scoreless first period in Glasgow saw chances at both ends of the ice, putting both goaltenders to the test early.
Dundee came out quickly, attacking with speed and generating a number of odd-man rushes throughout the opening frame which forced Liam Soulière into some tough saves.
An early penalty against the Stars saw Evan Brand sit for tripping, giving the home side the first powerplay of the night. Vladislav Pestov was sharp, however, denying the Clan an opening goal on the man advantage as the score remained 0-0 heading into the first intermission.

The second period saw similar action to the first, with neither team finding the back of the net despite numerous chances at both ends of the ice.
Tensions began to rise after Matt Spencer took exception to a hit by Rasmus Nousiainen, leading to both players sitting for roughing, with Spencer receiving an additional two minutes.
Dundee couldn’t convert on the ensuing powerplay, as the score once again remained 0-0 heading into the final period.

A goaltender change to begin the third saw Dominick Jaglar in net for the Stars, while Dan Norton took over between the pipes for the Clan.
Gary Haden finally got the Stars on the board at 51:15, converting a three-on-two rush with a nifty wrist shot from the right circle that beat Norton over the shoulder.
Newly named captain Travis Ewanyk doubled the Stars’ lead at 54:03, finishing off a cross-ice pass from Sebastian Bengtsson with a shot between Norton’s pads.
Jonathan McBean completed the scoring at 56:22 with a highlight-reel goal, capitalising on a turnover in the Clan zone before pulling off a slick move in front of the Glasgow net to secure a 3-0 victory.
