The Dundee Stars are back at home this Sunday when rivals Fife Flyers come to town on Challenge Cup duty. The Flyers went down 3-1 to Braehead Clan in the Scottish Cup Final, and they will be looking to build on their good form in preseason on Sunday evening. However, Stars’ Taylor Dickin insists Dundee will be no pushovers this season.

“Last week, it was a difficult weekend to get guys in at the very last minute, though it was good to finally see everybody at least hit the ice”. Taylor continued, “the guys were back on the ice Tuesday morning with a good workout session pre-practice. We are now looking forward to moving on from the pre-season phase and into the regular season”.

Before the rival game against Fife, the Stars are back in action Saturday when they visit the Belfast Giants in a challenge cup matchup.

“Belfast are one of the top sides in the league and we will need to be at our best on Saturday evening, however we have already beaten them once this season and we are determined to do the same again.”

Dickin admits he is looking forward to the first rival game against Fife. “I can’t wait to play in my first derby game in Dundee, though for now we are focusing on Belfast and hoping to stay on top of the Challenge Cup group”.

Sunday’s game faces off at 18:30 and tickets can be purchased from the DIA box office or on the Stars website.
