The Stars face Glasgow Clan this evening in the fist leg of Challenge Cup Quarter-Finals and both the forward and defenseman are expecting a great atmosphere in the Dundee Ice Arena.
“The guys are excited and there is always that little extra bit of extra atmosphere when you play against a local team like Glasgow.
“I’m sure it will be a big crowd, I know that the Stars fans will be here in numbers and, every time Glasgow come through, they bring some numbers, so I’m sure it will be a noisy rink on Friday”, Said Garrigan.
While, Gans added: “I am hoping for a big atmosphere, it is a Challenge Cup game and we are the top seeded team in the cup.
“So, we are hoping for our fans to come out and we will put on a show for them.”
The whole squad is excited and ready for the challenge of beating the Clan once more and the fact that it’s a cup games only adds more flavour to the tie, according to Garrigan and Gans.
Garrigan said: “The guys are really excited, obviously everyone is always excited for the games against Glasgow and it makes it even more special being the first leg of the Quarter-Finals.
“After having a good spell in the Challenge Cup, the guys are eager to get started again.”
Gans continued: “We have played very well against Glasgow in each game so far this year.
“We have lost one game, but I felt like we played a good game other than that one short stretch, so we have competed very well against them this season.”
Finally, both players had a message to share with the fans and Garrigan began by saying:
“Please be loud and proud, every time we are playing at home, it is like having a sixth man out there and it helps the guys find that extra gear.
“We are ready to play, and we want to see you there tonight.”
Then Gans added: “You should be prepared for a hard game like we have been playing recently and we are going to go out there and work hard to get that first leg win.”
Face-off for tonight’s Quarter-Final first leg is at 7:30pm and Tickets are available HERE.
