The Trade-Mart Dundee Stars will open the 2023-2024 Elite League season with a trip to Northern Ireland for a Challenge Cup contest against last season’s treble winners, Belfast Giants on Friday, September 22nd.

The season opener in Belfast will be followed by the first home game, 24 hours later as the Stars then host the Giants in another Challenge Cup fixture (face-off 7pm).

Prior to the opening weekend, there will also be four preseason friendlies held in the two weeks before the first puck drop of the new campaign.

First up is a double header against our biggest rivals, Fife Flyers with a trip to Kirkcaldy on Saturday, September 9th and a home game on Sunday, September 10th (face-off 5pm), before both clubs then face a pair of European clubs in a weekend of exhibition matches.

Romanian side, Corona Brasov and Dutch outfit, Tilburg Trappers will travel to Tayside for one match each against the Stars and Flyers, with Dundee hosting Brasov on Saturday, September 16th (face-off 7pm) and then the Trappers on Sunday 17th (face-off 5pm).

The first regular season fixture will be played on Saturday, September 30th, when Marc LeFebvre takes his side on the road to face Manchester Storm and the two teams then meet again in Dundee, the following day.

A pair of Tayside Derbies follows as the Stars and Flyers meet for the first time in competitive action and play back-to-back on the weekend of October 7th & 8th in the Challenge Cup.

The first road trip weekend of the season will come on Saturday, October 14th with visits to Nottingham Panthers and then Sheffield Steelers on Sunday, October 15th.

Two weeks later, Dundee then face their other Scottish foes, Glasgow Clan for the first time in their penultimate Challenge Cup Group Stage fixture at Braehead Arena, on Saturday, October 21st.

November then sees the Tayside club have a run of four home games on the bounce and they will be welcoming; Coventry Blaze, Nottingham Panthers, Glasgow Clan (Challenge Cup) and Guildford Flames.

The next instalment of the Tayside Derby will then be during the festive period as LeFebvre’s side travel to Fife on Boxing Day before the fixture is then reversed on December, 27th.

A Hogmanay home tie (face off 2pm) against Belfast sees the Stars end 2023 on home ice and they will also open 2024 at the DIA, when Glasgow come to the City of Discovery on Wednesday, January 3rd.

The final weekend of the regular season then falls on Saturday, April 6th and Sunday, April 7th, as the Stars and Flyers play another double header, which begins in Dundee before concluding in Kirkcaldy.

One week later (April 13th and 14th) will be the Playoff Quarter-Finals and the Elite League Playoff Finals Weekend will take place on the weekend of April 20th and 21st.
