There he began a two-year stint with the Mavericks and in that time, he totalled 40 points from 86 matches and also won a ECHL Brabham Cup as Kansas City were crowned regular season Champions in 2023-2024.
Brad, who stands at 6-foot tall, also scored 61 points in 98 collegiate games with the Dinos and won the USports West Conference Championship in the 2022-2023 season.
Schoonbaert was also named to the USports West All-Rookie team in the 2018-2019 campaign after winning an MJHL Championship the year prior, where he was also named on the league’s First-All Star Team.

LEFEBVRE ON SCHOONBAERT
Once the paperwork was signed to make Schoonbaert a Star, Stars Director of Hockey Operations and Head Coach, Marc LeFebvre, said: “Brad is a hard-nosed, in your face, type of player that brings more grit and determination to our lineup.
“He was a key component in helping Cardiff reach the playoff final last season and will bring that needed experience to our lineup, as we aim to take the next step forward and I look forward to working with him this season.”

SCHOONBAERT ON BECOMING A STAR
After completing the move, Brad said: “I am excited to be coming to Dundee.
“I know Brendan Harms a little bit and Drydn Dow went to the same school as me, so I was able to pick their brains a bit and they had lots of good things to say about the organisation, so I am excited for the season ahead.
“From my chats with Brendan and Drydn, Marc seems like a great coach and a great guy, so that was important to me as well but also staying in the Elite League is nice and I am getting a good opportunity to prove myself in Dundee.”

In his 14-year-career so far, Brad has featured in 486 matches, recorded 200 goals, 260 assists and collected 273 penalty minutes, while also playing in 101 playoff games, where he tallied 73 points (30G. 43A) and 52 penalty minutes.
Brad is our 17th signing of the summer and joins Drydn Dow, Jonathan McBean, Jarrett Fiske, Jackson Desouza, Craig Moore, Craig Garrigan, Keanu Yamamoto, Dominick Jaglar, Kris Inglis, Griffin Luce, Morten Jürgens, Nick Isaacson, Matt Berry, Spencer Naas, Justin Bean and Ben Almquist on next season’s roster.
