We hope the following information and advice can guide you through these changes.
According to government guidelines, full capacity is permitted within the building, however please DON’T attend the DIA,
DUNDEE ICE ARENA CLEANING
As you enter Dundee Ice Arena you will see the fantastic job the DIA staff have made of cleaning the DIA.
New enhanced cleaning protocols have been implemented and are rigorously maintained.
Please be considerate and play your part to maintain these high standards, by using the bins
provided and following the advice below.
MASKS
ALL person’s over 12 years old entering the arena, will agree to wear face masks at all times
throughout their visit, with the exception of when they are seated within the arena and if they meet the exemption criteria set out by the Scottish Government. More info HERE!
Mask removal will be entirely optional at your seat. However we would encourage mask wearing at all times.
HAND HYGIENE
Hand wash facilities are available throughout the arena. We encourage fans to use these facilities on arrival at DIA and frequently throughout your visit.
ENTERING DIA
Doors will open one hour prior to face off. Arrive with plenty time to allow everyone to enter in a timely and safe manner. Please be mindful of different family households or groups, respecting others space.
At least one person from each group will be encouraged to scan the QR codes around the arena for Track and Trace Scotland.
We again revert to multiple entry points for different groups. Please be aware of the door you need to enter and queue in the correct place, as entry will be strictly at the following designated doors;
Season ticket and corporate ticket holders will only enter the building from the back North East car park door, see image above.
E-ticket holders will enter the front door and then queue to the right hand side to enter the arena, after the hand wash station.
Pre-bought Box Office tickets and 10 timers will enter the left front door and make their way directly to the left inner doors.
The Box office will remain open for cash and cards ticket sales until the end of the 1st period, please stay left as you enter the main door.
We highly encourage fans to buy either in person at the DIA Box Office, before and on game day from 10am or online 24 hours per day HERE.
The pathway behind both benches will again be closed off before and during the game and will remain out of bounds for everyone, except players, staff and officials. See barrier image above.
An exception will only apply in the case of a fire drill or fire alarm.
If you wish to move to the other end of the arena, please use the pathway around the barrier boards and not cut through sections of seats, disrupting other fans.
STANDING AT THE PLEXI GLASS
Limited standing will be allowed around the glass and all fans standing will be asked to still wear their masks for the entirety of their visit. The only exception to mask wearing is whilst consuming food or drinks or meeting exemption criteria set out by the Scottish Government.
Stewards may ask you to find a seat, if you block pathways, so please be considerate of
others.
QUEUING FOR BAR AND CAFE
The Big bar is OPEN again, please try to keep a distance from other people, who are not in your extended group.
Please respect others at DIA, be that players, fans, staff and volunteers. So we can maintain the safest environment for everyone.
PASS OUTS FROM DUNDEE ICE ARENA
Pass outs to leave the arena will not be allowed until after the first period, once you have entered the arena, you will be asked to remain there until the end of the first period, unless in the event of an emergency.
Pass outs will only be available at the northeast door, where season ticket holders will enter, as the front door will be only used as an entrance or fire exit.
EXITING THE DIA AT THE END OF THE GAME
Please use the nearest North, East or Entrance doors to exit the building. Leaving the arena in a timely and safe manner.
GAME NIGHT CHANGES
Unfortunately as before, there will be no match night mascots, ceremonial puck drops or on ice photos with players. There will be no man of the match presentations post game and no players will be able to attend the bar or hospitality suites post game.
Man of the match will still be announced and the players applauded as they line up on each blue line, your Stars players will skate around the arena to wave to the fans and then leave the ice as before.
SOTB AND 50/50 AND PRIDE PUCK RAFFLES
SOTB, 50/50 and Pride Puck tickets will be sold as before on game night and we encourage you to support these initiatives as best you can, by bringing along a few coins to purchase these.
We have now implemented contactless payment at the Stars merchandise table as and alternative to cash payments.
We will continue with our online 50/50 and a away game SOTB online ticket sales for those who wish to continue in that manner and win some great prizes. Tonight’s home SOTB will be Dillon Lawrence and away SOTB is Drydn Dow.
SOTB winners, can pick up their jersey at the next game or we can send it out to the winner once the jersey has been laundered.
Unfortunately, Chuck A Puck will not happen in the short term, as we evaluate the best way to conduct this enjoyable part of the evening safely.
PLAYER INTERACTION
Unfortunately, we still require to minimise player and fan interaction. The players will not be able to pose for photos/selfies with fans or sign autographs, Pre or post game. Fans will be asked to leave the DIA main arena, at the end of each game, to ensure that we keep everyone as safe as possible.
WEE BAR
The wee bar will be reserved exclusively for the Kitmart Dundee Stars players, staff and officials pre, during and post-game.
MASSIVE THANKS
We thank everyone for their understanding and patience, as we restart full capacity professional ice hockey in the city after restrictions.
Following the above guidance will allow us to maintain the safety of everyone at DIA and allow us to enjoy the sport that we all love!
HOPE FOR THE FUTURE
We hope to slowly re introduce or relax measures as the season progresses and the pandemic allows.
We very much hope to get back to our ‘normal’ game night experience and allow our players once again to be fantastic ambassadors for our club the Kitmart Dundee Stars, which is at the heart of our community.
