Last week, the Kitmart Dundee Stars narrowly lost out to rivals Fife Flyers and this article will look at some of the standout statistics from that match and for this weekend’s upcoming games.

Dundee Stars 1 Fife Flyers 3

Dundee’s loss in the last Tayside Derby of the regular season means that the two teams have split the overall record at four wins each with both sides being victorious away form home on three occasions.

Forward, Matt Carter netted the Stars lone goal and that was his 10th of the season, taking him to 20 points in 19 appearances.

Also, Dundee’s final powerplay success rate against the Flyers was 12.12 per cent and they had a penalty kill of 90.48 per cent, over the eight Challenge Cup and League matches with Todd Dutiaume’s side

Points Leaders

The Stars points leaders now look like this after 52 games in all competitions this season, Kevin Dufour is still the top scorer with 30, nine more goals than the second highest, Anthony Beauregard.

Although, Beauregard is tied for the most-assists with Matt Marquardt, as they each have 29 helpers for this year.

That pair are also right on the tail of Dufour for the most points, as he has 52 but Beauregard has racked up 50 and Marquardt 49.

Point Streaks

Two players were able to extend their point streaks into Week 26, as both Marqaurdt and Carter picked up a point against Fife.

The Stars captain has now collected at least a point in the last three matches and in that time, he has totalled three goals and two assists.

Meanwhile, Carter has picked up four points in the previous pair of games, scoring twice and setting up two other goals.

Week 26

This week the Stars return to playing twice at the weekend and they have one home match and one road trip.

Manchester Storm

Ryan Finnerty’s Storm side have won three of the five meetings between the two teams but they have yet to win at the Dundee Ice Arena this season.

The Stars were shutout for a second time in Manchester this campaign in their last encounter, but three Dundee players have already beaten Matt Ginn in the Storm goal twice this year.

Egils Kalns, Dufour and Marquardt have each netted twice at home against the Storm and that makes up for six of the 10 goals the Tayside team have scored against the club from Altrincham.

Cardiff Devils

On Sunday, Omar Pacha takes his side to Cardiff for the final time in the league but they got their first win against the Welsh side in their last dance with the Devils.

Kalns, Dufour, Carter, Beauregard and Marquardt provided Dundee’s goals in the 5-2 victory, while Gleason Fournier struck twice for Andrew Lord’s men.

The Scottish outfit have lost three times to the Devils in four games this season and the overall score between the clubs is now 19-15 in favour of Cardiff.
