Ahead of this weekend’s final two Challenge Cup matches, this week’s One to Watch is Swedish forward, Hugo Reinhardt.

By Kris Smith

Reinhardt arrived in Dundee this summer from Swedish third tier club, Tingsryds AIF and linked up with former teammate, Romans Semjonovs again, and has quickly shown what he can bring to the team.

At 26-years-old, Hugo is an Allsvenskan and NCAA champion and had 225 career points through 460 games, before arriving in Scotland.

Now, he has been demonstrating his offensive capabilities here in the Elite League through the first five games of the season, where a delightful double against Glasgow Clan last weekend provided his first goals in a Stars jersey.

Reinhardt has three points, nine penalty minutes and one game-winning-goal to his name already this season, but his performances in training have also stood out, as he showcased his deadly shooting accuracy from close range.

Praising the start Hugo has made to the season, Stars Head Coach, Jeff Mason said: “I have been really happy with how Hugo has played.

“I feel he has been very solid for us defensively, but also he has been contributing offensively too, with those two big goals last weekend.

“He is a true professional, a great leader and he has been a good addition to our team.”

You can be at the DIA on Sunday to watch Hugo and the rest of the team against Belfast Giants, get your tickets HERE.
