The 30-year-old winger, who can play on either flank, started last season in Poland where he played 41 games for Unia Oswiecim, scoring 29 points and in February he then joined Esbjerg Energy in Denmark for 13 matches, where he netted six times.
Olsson also had an impressive Champions Hockey League campaign whilst in Poland last year as he bagged eight points in six matches for Unia Oswiecim, scoring against some of Europe’s best teams.
Born in Angelholm, the Swedish youth internationalist has played most of his career in his homeland but has previously ventured into the North American junior leagues as he had one campaign in the OHL with North Bay Battalion back in the 2014-2015 season.
The left-handed forward, who stands at 6-foot and 6-inches tall, has also spent three years in the Polish topflight, where he won a championship with GKS Katowice in the 2022-2023 season.
Hampus also won a Gold Medal with Rogle’s U18’s team in the 2011-2012 Swedish U18 league and from the Rogle academy, he progressed into their first team and made his senior debut in the second division, Allsvenkan.

After completing his roster with the addition of Hampus, Stars Director of Hockey Operations and Head Coach, Marc LeFebvre, said: “Hampus is a monster of a human being and brings size, skill and experience to our lineup.
“He competes hard, he is great at the net front and he takes pucks hard to the net but he is also crafty for a player of his size.”

In his 16-year-career so far, Hampus has featured in 668 matches, recorded 167 goals, 196 assists and collected 609 penalty minutes, while also playing in 101 playoff games, where he tallied 60 points (28G. 32A) and 103 penalty minutes.
